2022 smartphone production to be back to pre-pandemic levels

Samsung’s smartphone production for 2022 is expected to reach 276 million units, a 1.1% YoY growth.

Apple is expected to makeV243 million units, representing a 5.4% YoY growth and the second highest volume among all smartphone brands.

Xiaomi is expected to make 220 million units, representing a 15.8% YoY growth and the third highest volume among all brands.

OPPO, which sells under three brands – OPPO, Realme, and OnePlus -is expected to produce  208 million units – a 2.5% YoY growth.

OPPo’s stablemate Viivo – both are owned by BBR ElectronIcs – is expected to produce almost 150 million handsets –  a 6.4% YoY growth.

5G smartphones are expected to represent 47.5% of the market in 2022, with 660 million units produced.
