3W dc-dc in 22 x 9 x 11mm

Called RS3E, there are four 2:1 input options: 4.5-9, 9-18, 18-36 or 36-72V (15, 25, 50 or 100V 10ms surge rating respectively) and they convert both up and down allowing six regulated output options: 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15 or 24V for each input range.

Without derating, operation is across ambient temperatures from -40°C to +70°C, derating linearly to zero at 100°C. Peak efficiency is in the range 74 to 81% depending on version.

Also dependent on version is the maximum capacitive load which is 1,000 or 2,200μF.

Internal operation is at 130kHz, and output ripple and noise in a 20MHz bandwidth is 75mV peak to peak.

Isolation is 3kV (one minute) and the parts hold IEC/UL/CSA 62368-1 safety certification up to 5,000m altitude while meeting EN 55032/FCC class B and EN 55035 EMI standards.

A control input is left open circuit for normal operation or pulled to the negative input rail to inhibit the output. The data sheet shows an unexplained Resistor and diode combination in series with the control input, and also mentions connecting the control pin to a voltage between 5V and 6V to inhibit the output – Electronics Weekly has asked for clarification.

Output short circuit protection is included.

Claimed MTBF is 1.8 million hours and warranty is three years.

Industrial and e-mobility are amongst expected applications.
