500W full-brick encapsulated ac-dc PSU for industry

TBF500 PSUs are up to 93% efficient and operate from 85-264Vac (with derating below 100V), with the baseplate across -40 to +105°C, and up to 5,000m altitude. No-load consumption is 600mW.

Depending on device, the output choice is 12, 15, 24, 28, 48 or 54V, adjustable by external resistors across ±10%.

“The use of the remote sense pins compensate the voltage drop over the PCB tracks for an accurate working voltage at the point of load,” according to Luso Electronics, which is stocking the supplies. “Protection functions include hiccup mode over-current, automatic recovery short-circuit and latch-off output over-voltage.”

With the optional current share function, up to three modules can be connected in parallel to increase the output power.

External components are required to comply EMC standard EN/IEC 50032, Class B, inrush current limiter function, and OVC III (over-voltage category), said Luso. The required values are not in the data sheet version Electronics Weekly has seen.

Thermal shock, movement shock and vibration are specified to MIL-STD-810F.

A power good output is provided, and the part is IEC/UL/EN 62368-1 safety approved.

Applications are foreseen in 5G communication, defense, robotics and factory automation.
