75W ac-dc PSUs are baseplate cooled

Update: April 10, 2021
75W ac-dc PSUs are baseplate cooled

Cooling in the series, dubbed ASB75, can deliver up to 75W and are baseplate cooled – across a baseplate range of -40 to +85°C. Conversion to convection or forced-air cooling, with de-rating above 50°C, is through an optional heatsink for the cold-wall which increases height from 17 to 54mm.

Input is universal (90 – 264Vac, with slight de-rating below 100V), and ac fuse, EMC filter and hold-up capacitor are internal.

There are five models, all single output: 12, 15, 24, 36 or 48V. Adding a single Resistor allows ±10% trimming.

Efficiency is up to 88 – 90% depending on version, and no load draw is <150mW.

Size is 58 x 61 x 17mm and the unit mounts via its five through-hole solder pins – the cooling ‘baseplate’ is the top surface.

The in-built filtering will meet EN55032 Level B for conducted and radiated emissions as well as EN61000-4 immunity. Safety compliance is to UL/EN/IEC62368-1.

Protections include over-temperature, over-current, over-voltage and output short-circuit.

Applications are foreseen in IT equipment, IoT and industry – there is a 3-year warranty.

They are available direct from XP, or via Digi-Key, Farnell, Mouser, RS Components and regional distributors.
