80A non-isolated PoL sits up on edge

Called BMR474, it is a digital non-isolated PoL that can deliver 198W. Efficiency is as high as 95.1% at 12Vin 3.3Vout full load – chunky output pins help to keep resistive losses at bay. An optional pre-fitted heatsink is required for more demanding applications.

Input voltage range is 6 to 15V and the output can be adjusted from 0.6 to 3.3V – with 80A available at up to 1.8V, and 60A above 1.8V.

Ripple and noise is 5mV at 12Vin 1Vout full load.

Operation is over -40 to +125°C and meets IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 safety requirements. Under-voltage, over-voltage, over-temperature and over-current protection is incuded – MTBF is >23 million hours.

“BMR474 is easy to set up via its PMBus digital interface, which provides monitoring, configuration and control capabilities, and is also supported by Flex Power Modules’ Power Designer software,” according to the company. “By using the software’s simulation functions, it’s straightforward to optimise configuration parameters, which means designers can achieve a stable control loop with a fast load transient response.”

The converter is sampling now and scheduled to be released in May.
