Agreement offers advanced sensors and analog/digital mixed-signal ICs

Update: March 15, 2023

Mouser has signed a global distribution agreement with Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM), which provides advanced sensors and analog/digital mixed-signal ICs. The company offers clients unique products by combining the compound Semiconductor technology generally employed for magnetic sensors with the ASIC/analog circuit technology based on silicon semiconductors. The new agreement provides design engineers access to sensors and audio chips for mobile, automotive, industrial, and consumer markets.

The AKM portfolio incorporates the CZx coreless current sensor ICs. These devices provide creepage and clearance distances of 8mm or more and high accuracy. These current sensor ICs support a broad current range and generate less heat. The CZ3Ax current sensor ICs have two overcurrent detection circuits; each overcurrent detection threshold can be altered from the outside. The CZ37x current sensor ICs offer a built-in disturbance magnetic field suppression function that enhances system efficiency and precise control in diverse applications.

Also offered are the AK5x audio ADCs and AK4x audio DACs. These devices employ VELVET SOUND technology, which maximises dynamics and provides pure, unaltered audio data, prioritising the accurate capture and reproduction of the source material to deliver high performance and rich musicality. These devices were developed particularly for the high-resolution digital audio era, making them excellent for applications, including AV receivers, set-top boxes, and car-entertainment systems.

Infrared LED elements and infrared sensors for NDIR-type gas sensors round out the portfolio. These co-dependent devices use epitaxial growth technology for semiconductor thin films. This technology attains emission wavelength control for the optimum gas absorption wavelength band and high-speed and high-output emission control. The compact design of these devices contributes to the downsizing of gas sensor module design. They are ideal for automotive CO2-sensing applications, HVAC, and flame detection.
