ASM Presents New Products in Livestream

Technology leader ASM will present its latest innovations for the electronics manufacturing industry in a livestream on September 1, 2021. “ASM Impact – Release Summer 2021” will focus mostly on process improvements across the whole spectrum ranging from printing, inspection and placement to fully integrated software solutions. Examples include enhancement for DEK TQ and DEK NeoHorizon solder paste printers as well as for the AMS ProcessLens SPI system, along with new, smart SIPLACE feeder solutions. The event will also feature new functions and enhancements for the ASM Works smart factory suite. Another highlight will be the extensive capabilities of the ASM Factory Equipment Center solution for company-wide and non-proprietary asset and maintenance management.

ASM will present its latest hardware and software innovations for SMT production in two one-hour livestreams on September 1 at 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. During the event, participants can direct questions directly to the ASM experts via the chat function. In addition, ASM will provide all participants with a comprehensive information package following the event.

“Our ASM Impact livestream format has become a fixture in our customers’ calendars. By presenting focused information in compact, virtual events, ASM delivers exactly what people want these days,” says Alexander Hagenfeldt, Head of Global Product Marketing at ASM. “That’s why we will continue to hold this semi-annual virtual event covering our latest SMT innovations in addition to the traditional in-person events that are finally possible again. With the many process improvements that the solutions being presented make possible, customers can make their production even more productive, efficient and resilient and thus take a big step towards the integrated smart factory.”

Expanded printing solutions

The All-Purpose Clamping (APC) option, which was successfully introduced for the DEK NeoHorizon, is now also available for the DEK TQ. Users can choose the most suitable clamping method for the respective task, including topside clamping for warped boards, automatic adjustment to the PCB’s thickness, and control of clamping pressure. The DEK NeoHorizon now processes boards up to 620 millimetres (24.4 inches) long, and the DEK Typhoon underside cleaning system can now accommodate these formats as well.

Faster and enhanced inspection

The ASM ProcessLens SPI solution shines with significant improvements in terms of speed and user-friendliness, and the globally unique self-learning ASM Process Expert system is now integrated even more effectively into the ASM Works software infrastructure. With the ASM Software Equipment Connector, it can now process data from third-party AOI systems.

New feeder modules

Developed for high-volume production, the SIPLACE Tray Unit lets the user supply components from up to 42 trays and refill them without having to stop the production. The SIPLACE Force Verification Feeder makes it possible to check the correct placement force of each individual nozzle segment. For the SIPLACE LDU 2X flux solution, a refill unit is now available that keeps the flux level constant with no operator assist.

More integrated software

The ASM Works software suite features an even higher level of user-friendliness, for example in the ASM Studio module. In addition, the ASM Software Equipment Connector expands the integration capabilities for the ASM Command Center. And the ASM Factory Equipment Center asset and maintenance solution, which can also accommodate third-party machines and components, features more expanded and refined maintenance management workflows.
