Collaboration delivering latest 5G considerably expands reach

Anritsu Corporation announces that it has successfully verified several key 3GPP Release 16 features utilising its Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A together with Samsung Electronics’ System LSI Business latest 5G Exynos Modem.

The 5G NR Release 16 considerably expands the reach of 5G to accomplish new services, spectrum and deployments. It provides many enhancements to the key aspects of the 5G system that further improve capacity, coverage, mobility, latency, power efficiency, reliability and more. Together these enhancements will allow benefits over a wide range of 5G use cases.

As part of a longstanding collaboration, the companies have focussed on the integration and testing of multiple new Release 16 power-saving features that may extend battery life, such as a new wakeup signal, enhanced cross-slot scheduling, UE Assistance Information and optimised UE radio capability signalling. In addition, its mobility enhancements such as Conditional Handover, Overheating Assistance Information, MDT and SON are now being integrated.
