Data Converter ICs

Integrated circuits designed to convert the form of a signal between digital and analog and vice versa

Data converter integrated circuits are used to convert digital data streams into analog signals (DACs) or any analog signal into a digital signal (ADCs).

Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs)
Integrated circuits designed to convert an analog signal into a digital signal

Analog to Digital Converters are integrated circuits that take an analog signal and transforms it into a digital signal. They are used in many applications, especially where a sensor’s output is an analog signal and to process it using a microcontroller or a computer it is necessary to convert it into a digital signal.

Digital Potentiometers

Integrated circuits designed to provide a variable resistance controlled by digital inputs

Digital Potentiometers are integrated circuits that work similar to mechanical potentiometers in that they provide a variable resistance. Instead of using a physical slider or a rotary wheel, digital potentiometers accept digital inputs to change the value of the resistance.

Digital to Analog Converters (DACs)

Integrated circuits designed to convert a digital signal to an analog signal

Analog to Digital Converters are integrated circuits that take a digital signal and transforms it into an analog signal. DACs are commonly used in music players to convert digital data streams into analog audio signals. They are also used in televisions and mobile phones to convert digital video data into analog video signals which connect to the screen drivers to display monochrome or color images.

Touch Screen Controllers

Integrated circuits designed to interface a touchscreen with a device

Touchscreen Controllers are integrated circuits that translate the input received from the touchscreen into the appropriate action in the device it’s connected to. For example, If you tap an icon in a mobile device, the touchscreen controller tells the device to open or execute the app.
