ESSCI Organized a Webinar on Mobile Robotics Technology for IndiaSkills and WorldSkills

The Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) hosted a webinar on Mobile Robotics on Wednesday. The objective behind the webinar was to develop an understanding of about IndiaSkills 2021 & WorldSkills 2022 and how a candidate may prepare to win on these competitions. The webinar witnessed distinguished speakers Vibhor Meshram (WorldSkills Champion 2017) and Karan Patil (IndiaSkills Expert) sharing their insights and strategy to clear the modules of Mobile Robotics and make the audience aware about both competitions.

The IndiaSkills Competition is the country’s largest skills competition organized by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the winner of this competition participate in the WorldSkills competition.

Mr. Karan Patil, IndiaSkills expert explained about the scope of robotics technology in India and how these Competitions can change the career dimension of the candidate. He gave detailed information about emerging career options, opportunities for industry, research and job options in this field.

“The skill competition is intended to reflect international best practices as described by the World Skills Standards Specification and to the extent that it can. In the skill competition the assessment of knowledge and understanding will take place through the assessment of performance,” he said.

While Vibhor Meshram, who won the WorldSkills competition’s (Abu Dhabi, 2017) medallion of excellence, gave insights into the skill competition and said that Mobile Robotics is a team skill competition with two Competitors per team. “In the skill competition, the assessment of knowledge and understanding will take place through the assessment of performance. There will only be separate tests of knowledge and understanding where there is an overwhelming reason for these,” he said.

Vibhor appreciated the ESSCI’s webinar and other activities for the preparing the future skills competition winners. More than 250 candidates from different parts of the country participated in the one-hour-long webinar. The participants appreciated this initiative of the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India as they got to learn about Indiaskills, WorldSkills and emerging robotics technology through the webinar.

Further on this, Piyush Chakraborty, Officiating Head, ESSCI, shared his views on the webinar and said that the skill competitions have several outcomes such as advocacy through raising awareness and aspirations by recognizing talent. “Our aim is to encourage the Indian youth by harnessing their skills and access of knowledge and awareness for India Skills and World Skills competitions to the remotest part of the country,” he added.

There is a need to showcase the country’s excellence in different skill sets across the globe to make India the “Skill Capital” of the world.

The aim is to spread awareness about these competitions to the remotest part of the country and to encourage Indian youth to participate in these competitions and get selected to compete and win in WorldSkills and other International competitions.
