Farnell ships Arduino Nano and Raspberry Pi Pico development boards

The new-to-market Arduino Nano RP2040 Connect and Raspberry Pi Pico provide differentiated development platforms for the Raspberry Pi-designed RP2040 microcontroller, and are competitively priced to enable deployment in production systems.

The Arduino Nano RP2040 Connect connected RP2040 board is pin-compatible with the Nano form factor, familiar to engineers working with Raspberry Pi and Arduino. It is based on a RP2040 microcontroller, with dual ARM Cortex-M0+ processors and 264kB of SRAM and designed for IoT and machine learning applications. The board includes a u-blox INA W102 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radio module, 16MB of on-board QSPI flash, a six-axis inertial motion unit (IMU – i.e. accelerometer and gyroscope), an RGB LED, 20 digital GPIO pins and eight analogue inputs. It is compatible with Arduino Cloud.

The Raspberry Pi Pico has 2MB of on-board QSPI flash, 26 multi-function GPIO pins, of which three can be used in analogue inputs and an onboard buck-boost regulator. Development tools include drag and drop programming via micro-USB, three-pin serial wire debug (SWD) for interactive debugging, a C software development kit (SDK) and a mature MicroPython port. The board has castellated pads and is the first development board built on the RP2040 microcontroller to be designed in house at Raspberry Pi.

Lee Turner, global head of semiconductors and SBC at Farnell, said: “RP2040, Raspberry Pi’s first in-house silicon . . . . is proving to be incredibly popular with design engineers and makers through to some of the world’s leading electronics manufacturers. . . We are delighted to offer our customers a greater in-stock range of powerful and performant development boards and cutting-edge products to support their designs and projects.”

Farnell stocks the complete range of Raspberry Pi single board computers for professional, commercial, education or home use, supported with accessories including cases, power supplies, micro-HDMI cables and the Raspberry Pi high resolution camera.

The development boards are available for fast delivery.
