Farnell stocks Advanced Energy’s Excelys low voltage power supplies

The CS1000 series is a single output module, delivering convection-cooled 1000W in an open frame U-channel form factor. It is suitable for applications that are sensitive to vibration or acoustic noise or where fan cooling is not available.

There are also the Xsolo series for medical applications. Available in two package types, the convection-cooled 504W power supply is in an open-frame U-channel form factor and the enclosed, fan-cooled chassis is up to 1008W.

There are three versions of the CoolX series modular configurable power supplies available. The CoolX 600 is a natural convection-cooled modular power supply that delivers 600W, the CoolX1000 is in a compact U-channel design, measuring 259.5mm x 164mm x 40.6mm (10-inch x 6.5-inch x 1U) and provides up to 1000W without any requirement for fan or baseplate cooling, eliminating acoustic noise and vibration, says the company. The CoolX1800 intelligent modular power supply delivers 1800W in a compact 1U high package with 50% more power than the industry standard, according to Farnell.

The power supplies can be used for medical equipment including clinical diagnostic and dialysis equipment, medical lasers, radiological imaging and clinical chemistry. They are also suitable for test and measurement, industrial machines, automation and audio equipment, printing and telecommunications, advises the distributor. There are also convection-cooled models that do not require fan cooling for use in acoustically-sensitive laboratory and medical environments, broadcast, radar and communication equipment.
