The STMicroelectronics STGAP2SICS, available now from RS Components, is a single gate driver which provides galvanic isolation between the gate driving channel and the low voltage control and interface circuitry. The gate driver is defined by 4A capability and rail-to-rail outputs, making the device also ideal for mid and high-power applications, including power conversion and motor driver inverters in industrial applications.
The device is offered in two different configurations. The configuration with separated output pins enables users to independently optimise turn-on and turn-off by employing dedicated gate resistors. The configuration highlighting single output pin and Miller CLAMP function stops gate spikes through fast commutations in half-bridge topologies. Both configurations offer high flexibility and BOM reduction for external components.
