“The laser diodes are available with different optical power levels: 10, 20, 30, 50 and 100mW,” according to component distributor Rutronik, which is stocking the parts. “To ensure eye protection, the green laser diodes in the TO56 housing have an integrated photodiode that monitors and controls the optical output power.”

TO-38 package (right, diode isolated from package)
Use for both is expected in barcode scanners, laser levelling, machine vision and pointing, plus life sciences applications for the PLT5 450GB.
