Sensirion has launched its new SFC5500 mass flow controller series. The device is claimed to be the world’s first mass flow controller available by catalogue distribution. The high-performance mass flow controller is calibrated for multiple gasses and supplied with push-in fittings, which may be changed easily by the user. Thanks to the device’s ultra-wide control range, each one can cover multiple flow ranges seen in conventional devices. As a result, only three different versions with different flow ranges are sufficient to cover most flow rates of interest. This makes the series ideal for applications in the medical, analytical and industrial sectors.
The sensor is based on the microthermal measurement principle and uses the company’s proven CMOSens MEMS Technology. This enabled them to build an innovative mass flow controller with best-in-class performance and outstanding reliability, which – unlike many other devices on the market – does not drift or need in-service re-calibration.
The series complements the SFC5xxx family of the company’s best-in-class mass flow controllers. It provides the same high performance as the SFC5400 and is, therefore, ideal for a wide range of applications in medical, analytical and industrial environments. However, unlike the SFC5400 series, the series mass flow controllers are offered in several standard pre-configured variants.
