Highest performance entry-line MCUs also offer low power performance

Renesas Electronics Corporation has released a new Group of 32-bit MCUs in its RA Family. The new RA6E1 MCUs, based on the Arm Cortex-M33 core, are claimed to be the industry’s first Entry-Line MCUs to achieve 200MHz performance. The new devices also offer exceptionally low power consumption specifications, together with a strong list of peripheral features.

The MCUs are differentiated by a unique combination of extremely low power consumption, best-in-class security options, incorporating Arm TrustZone technology, and Renesas’ Flexible Software Program (FSP), supporting all RA Family offerings. The FSP incorporates highly efficient drivers and middleware to facilitate the implementation of communications and security. The FSP’s GUI simplifies and expedites the development process. It allows flexible use of legacy code, as well as easy compatibility and scalability with other RA Family devices. Designers employing FSP also have access to the extensive Arm ecosystem, providing a broad variety of tools that help speed time-to-market, as well as the company’s extensive partner network.

The MCUs comprises six different parts, spanning from 48-pin to 100-pin packages, and from 512kB to 1MB of flash memory along with 256kB of SRAM. The devices provide excellent power consumption specifications, and extensive peripherals and connectivity options (including Ethernet), giving a unique combination of performance and features.
