Hirose Electric Co., Ltd. has shrunk the size of its 2.5-GHz high-frequency antenna connector, reducing footprints by up to 37% in automotive antenna systems. The GT21 Series antenna connector also reduces assembly time and cost thanks to a one-step crimp termination design. The crimp termination also enables the cable assembly to be completed without touching the center conductor for precise positioning.
The connector is said to provide an excellent high-frequency response characteristics with a VSWR lower than 1.5 at DC to 2.5 GHz. It is rated for exposure to shock and vibration, sulfur dioxide, high humidity and thermal shock. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 105°C. The maximum coaxial cable diameter for the GT21 series is 3.1 mm. (5.2 mm for the GT21A Series).
The GT21 Series is available in three termination variations, including through-hole, SMT, and in-line versions. The antenna connector supports single coaxial, 2-port, 3-port, and 4-port cable terminations. The single coaxial version is offered in four color-coded keying options.
