“The in-field service technician is a frontline representative of a company,” said Segger CEO Ivo Geilenbruegge.

The programmer is aimed at service technician re-programming microcontrollers with on-chip or external flash memory.

Arm, PowerPC and Renesas RX cores can be programmed, and set-up and control software for the device is available for Linux, macOS and Windows.

It has a 20 pin target connector, for which an array of adapters are available. It can be battery 10hr, rechargeable) or USB powered, and both optical and magnetic galvanic isolators are also available. Data rates can span 30kbyte/s to 1 Mbyte / s, and JTAG , SWD , FINE and  SPD formats are supported, with authorized flashing.

Inside is 128 Mbyte of internal memory that can hold up to 16 firmware images or programming configuration files. Images can be activated by pushing a button, and the currently selected one will be displayed. Data files can be updated via file access mode or J-Flash.

Software, firmware updates and new flash loaders are free-of-charge.
