Meeting the 45 x 45mm 622pad LGA OSM v1.1 solderable standard, the module is called iW-RainboW-G55M.
Courtesy of the TI IC, it has quad 1.4GHz Arm Cortex-A53 CPU cores, an 800MHz Cortex-R5F (MPU channel with FFI), a second 800MHz Cortex-R5F (device management) and up to 2Top/s of C7xV-256 deep learning acceleration. All of this is supported by 2Gbyte (expandable to 8GB) of LPDDR4 RAM, 16Gbyte (expandable to 128Gbyte) of eMMC flash and 16Mbit of QSPI flash.
“An onboard Wi-Fi 6, BT 5.3 and LR-WPAN module gives wireless connectivity, while a pair of CAN and Ethernet connectors with TSN compatibility enables industrial and automotive deterministic networking,” according to iWave.
Other module interfaces include: 2x RGMII, 2x USB 2.0, SD (4bit), MIPI CSI, RGB, 2x I2S audio, 3x UART, CAN, 2x I2C, 3x GPIO and 2x PWM.
Power needs are 5V at 2.5A, and operation is over -40 to +85°C (heatsinking may be required). AEC-Q104 compliance is claimed with caveats.
Linux 5.4.7 (or higher) and Free RTOS are supported.
“With a built-in hardware security module, power management, compatibility for open-source operating systems and a product longevity of 10+ years, the iW-RainboW-G55M OSM is suited for application in the automotive, industrial and automation markets,” said the company.
In has connectors for dual 1,000/100/10Mbit/s Ethernet, 2x CAN, USB 2.0 OTG (Micro AB), Dual USB 2.0 host (Type A), Micro SD, audio, MIPI CSI camera (4 lane), RS232 and UART. There is also a real-time clock with battery back-up.
Operation is from 12Vdc and over -40 to +85°C.
