Low-noise amplifier for X-band and Ku-band satellite comms

Update: December 4, 2021

Mouser now stocks the Qorvo CMD328K3 6GHz-18GHz LNA from Qorvo. The device is ideal for electronic defence and communications systems where small size and low power consumption are required.

The device is a broadband MMIC LNA that runs between 6GHz and 18GHz with a noise figure of only 1.4dB. The amplifier brings greater than 27dB of gain with a corresponding output 1dB compression point of +12dBm. The broadband device is a 50-Ohm matched design, which removes the requirement for external DC blocks and RF port matching.

Housed in a leadless 3mm x 3mm plastic surface-mount air cavity package, the amplifier is an excellent alternative to hybrid amplifiers.

Applications for the LNA incorporate X-band and Ku-band radar, satellite communications, and electronic defence receivers.
