Lumileds upgrades LUXEON 3030 2D Round LEDs

Lumileds has again upgraded the lumen performance its LUXEON 3030 2D Round LEDs. The luminous flux performance has increased up to 2.5% across all correlated color temperatures (CCTs) and at 70 and 80 color rending index (CRI). As an example, the 6-V LUXEON 3030 Round LED can produce 180 lumens (lm)/watt (4000 K CCT, 70 CRI) at 120 mA.

The LUXEON 3030 2D Round LEDs also offer high efficacy and high light output, enabling lower LED counts in outdoor and other high-lumen applications, said the company. Other features include hot-color targeting at 85°C, which ensures color at operating temperatures, and 1/9th micro-binning that enables tight color control.

The LUXEON 3030 2D (Round and Square) uses two emitters in series to deliver light from the 3 × 3 mm package. The round LES is particularly well suited for use with lens optics in industrial and outdoor applications, said the company. The series also enables 3-, 4-, 5-step MacAdam ellipse custom binning kits for color sorting.

Lumileds also recently upgraded the LUXEON 5050 LEDs with improvements in flux and efficacy to meet increasing requirements for higher efficiency and energy cost reduction in streetlights and high-bay fixtures. Typical performance is now 675 lm with 172 lm/watt in full bin shipments.
