Medical PSUs in 2 x 3inch open frames

Both handle inputs across 85 to 264Vac. At high input voltages, efficiency can be as high as 91%.

Sizing is ~51 x 76 x 22mm for UMA30F, increasing to ~24mm tall for the ..60F.

These are the first of the company’s UMA series, that will all be designed for ‘body floating’ medical applications (leakage is <75µA) and to comply with 2MOPP input to output and 1MOPP output to frame (ground) safety requirements.

They are for “medical applications requiring robust and highly reliable power supplies that are able to operate around the world and comply with safety regulations,” said Cosel. For UMA, the company’s “designers developed an optimised fly-back topology platform.”

Depending on part, the output is 5V (3 or 6A), 12V (2.5 or 4.5A), 15V (3.5A), 24V (1.3 or 2.5A) or 48V (650mA or 1.25A). Note: lower voltage versions cannot deliver the full 30W or 60W.

These outputs are factory-adjusted, except with option ‘Y’ types which have an adjustment potentiometer.

Features include in-rush current limiting, over-current protection and over-voltage protection.

Operation is over -20 to +70°C – although derating within these limits may be needed.

Approval is to ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 and EN60601-1 3rd Edition, C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.60601-1), UL62368-1, EN62368-1 and C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.62368-1), and they comply with EN60335-1.

For applications requiring additional safety, there are versions with reinforced isolation to IEC class II (E).

Warranty is five-years.
