Mixed-signal front-end digitiser for reference design integration

Update: April 15, 2021

Analog Devices now offers a 16-channel, mixed-signal front-end (MxFE) digitiser for aerospace and defence applications, including phased array radars, electronic warfare, and ground-based SATCOM. The new digitiser comprises four AD9081 or four AD9082 software-defined, direct RF sampling transceivers. It is intended to accelerate customer development by giving reference RF signal chains, power supply designs, software architectures, and application example code. The company also launched a digitising card to complement the platform and aid system-level calibration algorithms and demonstrate power-up phase determinism.

The ADQUADMXFE1EBZ 16-Channel, Mixed-Signal Front-End Digitizer Key Features include 16x RF receive (Rx) channels (32x digital Rx channels) and 16x RF transmit (Tx) channels (32x digital Tx channels). Also provided are application-specific examples in MATLAB application scripts and a GUI, together with flexible clock distribution.

The ADQUADMXFE-CAL Digitizing Card Key provides both individual adjacent channel loopback and combined channel loopback options. It also providers

combined Tx and Rx channels output via SMA connectors and onboard log power detectors with AD5592R digitisation.
