Need an AEC-Q103 qualified MEMS microphone?

Update: April 17, 2021

It is the IM67D130A, which operates over -40°C to +105°C and has an acoustic overload point (AOP) of 130dB SPL which “allows the microphone to capture distortion-free audio signals in loud environments. Because of that, it can be placed inside or outside of the vehicle”, said the company. It “is the first microphone in the market to be qualified for automotive applications, which will help simplify the design-in efforts for the industry and reduce the risk of qualification fails”.

Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is 67dB and sensitivity scores -36dB FS. Output is PDM.

Supply can vary from 1.62 to 3.6V and nominal current consumption is 980µA.

The device has a 3 x 4mm footprint and comes in the company’s PG-LLGA-5-4 package, which has a minimum pitch of 0.7mm.

Qualification is to AEC-Q103-003.

In-cabin applications such as hands-free systems, emergency calls, in-cabin communication and active noise cancellation (ANC) are foreseen, alongside exterior applications such as siren or road condition detection. “These features enable the use of sound as a complementary sensor for advanced driver assistance systems and predictive maintenance,” posits Infineon.
