New range of EMC high-current filters with exceptional attenuation characteristics

Update: April 15, 2023

TDK Corporation has introduced its B84143C*S250/S251 series the new EPCOS three-line EMC filters for converter applications with high currents. Depending on the type, they are intended for rated voltages of 305/530VAC and 440/760VAC (50/60Hz) at rated currents of 160A to 2500A. One specific performance characteristic is their high attenuation figures in the 9kHz to 150kHz range. To meet the conditions of UL in switch cabinet construction, the complete filter series has been developed for an SCCR value of 100kA.

Despite the high performance, the housings with a degree of protection IP00 are extremely compact. The smallest model, for example, measures 350mm x 240mm x 120mm (L x W x H), and the largest is 710mm x 365mm x 257mm. All types of earth leakage currents are 46mA, according to IEC 60939-1:2010. Approvals have been issued under IEC 60939-3, UL 60939-3 and CSA C22.2 No.8.

Typical applications for input filters include frequency converters for motor drives, wind turbines and power supplies.
