Right angle multi-position XLR connectors added to connectivity range

Cliff Electronics has introduced the new RAMP – Right Angle Multi-Position – version of industry-standard XLR Connectors to its connectivity product range. Main applications comprise audio, broadcast, control and instrumentation systems for concert venues, studios, public buildings, schools, offices, laboratories, and industrial installations.

Manufactured in durable metal, the right-angled cable-mounted RAMP XLR connectors are offered in male with three, four or five poles and female three and five-pole versions. The slim design allows mounting several connectors in confined situations such as compact control panels and wall boxes. These connectors are rated at <50V with current loads of 15A for three-pin, 10A for four-pin and 7.5A for five-pin versions.

The new connector range can house cable diameters from 3.5mm to 8mm. Each connector is provided with a black rear boot which delivers strain relief. Nine other colour options (white, grey, green, red, yellow, blue, brown and orange) provide for panel coding and cable identification that saves users time during installation.

These XLR right-angle connectors may be mounted in the conventional down-facing position or at eight other positions/angles to provide easier, tangle-free cable drops on the same panel.

The positions and colours can be selected on-site during commissioning to decrease part numbers, inventory, and ordering MOQs. Coloured boot/strain reliefs are offered in single-colour packs or convenient rainbow packs, avoiding the wastage of unused colours.

The company’s FeedThrough connector range can be mounted on 19″ rack panels with up to 16 standard XLR connectors or 20 of the DualSLIMS. Blank and pre-assembled panels are available direct.
