Shielded power inductors meet high-temperature requirements

Update: August 8, 2021

Bourns, Inc. has introduced a new series of shielded power inductors that meet the high-current-density and high-temperature requirements in a variety of applications. The Model SRP6530A Shielded Power Inductor Series features shielded construction with a metal alloy powder core that offers low magnetic field radiation, low buzz noise, and a wide operating temperature range.

These AEC-Q200 compliant inductors are suited for electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering and power management solutions in consumer, industrial, and telecom electronics applications that require higher reliability.

Bourns’ uniquely-formulated metal alloy powder core and molded construction offer high saturation currents of 7 to 70 A over the 0.1 – 10 μH inductance range. They also are said to provide low DC resistance, which enhances their low loss characteristics, and excellent temperature stability of inductance across a wide temperature band.

The use of high temperature-graded materials enable a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to 155°C with a 50 VDC rating and high rated currents up to 34 A. The devices are RoHS compliant and halogen free.

Bourns also offers the Model SRP7028AA, SRP7050AA and SRP1038AA series  of automotive-grade shielded power inductors, introduced earlier this year. These inductors also meet AEC-Q200 and are RoHS compliant and halogen free. Target applications include power management and EMI filtering in DC/DC converters and power supplies in consumer, industrial, and telecom electronics applications.
