SPDT tact switch works for three million cycles

Not only that, but the 6.0 x 6.1 x 3.45mm ‘TLSM’ switch is momentary in operation and mechanically rated for 3,000,000 cycles. Travel of the top-mounted soft actuator is 0.3 ±0.2mm with 2N of force.

The company “has developed a single-pole double-throw [SPDT] tactile switch for elevator buttons, gaming controllers and the industrial market”, it said. The switch offers “higher reliability compared to traditional miniature tact switches” and “provide full integration into reflow soldering standard processes”. According to the data sheet, soldering compatibility is to infra-red reflow to IEC61760-1.

Electrically the contacts can handle 1 to 16V and 10µA to 50mA, and resistance is 500mΩ max after testing.

For isolation, insulation resistance is 100MΩ min, and dielectric voltage is 250Vac.

Operation is over -40 to 90˚C and the switches are sealed to IP54.
