Three-phase DIN rail PSUs handle 120W or 240W, with 20% boost

Update: August 6, 2023
Three-phase DIN rail PSUs handle 120W or 240W, with 20% boost

Called the DRB series, they can deliver a peak of 144W or 288W for two seconds, respectively.

Versions are available with outputs of 12V, 24V or 48V.

Outputs can be trimmed across 11.4 to 15, 22.5 to 29 or 45 to 56V depending on model.

Efficiency is up to 94% and no-load power consumption can be cut to under 2.3W if the supply is put into stand-by using its remote on-off – by applying a closed contact or voltage under 4V to the control input.

Peak power pulses and “constant current overload characteristic, enables operation with capacitive and inductive loads”, according to TDK. “These power supplies also feature a very low energy inrush current upon initial start-up, reducing nuisance tripping of input circuit breakers.”

The convection-cooled DIN-rail-mount cases are metal and 55mm wide by 129mm high and 138mm, and there are screw terminal and push-in terminal versions (see photo).

For higher power or redundant systems, paralleled operation is enabled through front panel DIP switches.

An LED indicator is provided, as is a ‘dc OK’ Relay contact is output for remote monitoring.

Input to output isolation is 3.51kVac, input to ground 2.21kVac and output to ground is 1.39kVac.

Operation is over -25 to +70°C ambient, with derating above 55°C.

Units are certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1, 61010-1, 61010-2-201 and are CE / UKCA marked to the Low voltage, EMC and RoHS Directives. They meet EN 55011-B and CISPR11-B radiated and conducted emissions. The series also complies with EN 61000-3-2 (Class A) harmonic currents and IEC/EN 61000-6-2 immunity.

Applications are foreseen in conventional switch cabinets, decentralised machinery, industrial systems, information technology and communications.
