Ultrasonic proximity and fibre optic sensors extend RS factory automation

The range now includes ultrasonic proximity sensors and fibre optical sensors which join the photoelectric proximity sensors (through-beam, retro-reflective and diffuse), inductive proximity sensors and capacitive proximity sensors. The sensors are used to detect a range of materials including metals, plastics, paper, liquids, powders and particles. For example, they can be used to verify production, by counting units, detecting pressure to identify objects, or absence of objects, as well as to measure pressure, flow, and viscosity along the production route. The sensors can be used in product manufacture, laboratories, distribution warehouses, as well as food and beverage production and automated packaging lines.

The RS PRO range also includes load cells, rotary encoders, thermocouples, sensors switches and cables, and accessories such as mounting brackets and a sensor tester switch. The distributor says engineers responsible for automation testing, design or maintenance can source compatible products from a single supplier. All products in the range are audited against international standards. The are covered by a three-year warranty and are shipping now.
