Wireless microcontroller provides easy wireless connectivity

Update: March 28, 2024

Mouser now stocks the SimpleLink CC2674R10 wireless microcontroller from Texas Instruments.

The controller is a multiprotocol and multi-band 24GHz wireless MCU. This device supports Thread, Zigbee, Bluetooth 5.3 Low Energy, IEEE 802.15.4, IPv6-enabled smart objects (6LoWPAN), proprietary systems, including the TI 15.4-Stack (2.4GHz), and concurrent multiprotocol through a DMM driver.

The wireless MCU also supports Matter. Matter is an industry-unifying, IP-based connectivity protocol that streamlines building IoT applications while permitting seamless integration into a variety of ecosystems for smart homes, industrial automation, consumer electronics, smart agriculture, healthcare and more.

The controller is optimised for low-power wireless communication and advanced sensing in building security systems, HVAC, medical, portable electronics, and home theatre and entertainment markets. In addition to the software compatibility, within the multi-band wireless MCUs, there is pin-to-pin compatibility from 352kB of Flash up to 1MB of Flash in the 7mm × 7mm QFN package for maximum design scalability.

The device is part of the SimpleLink MCU platform, which consists of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, Thread, Zigbee, Sub-1 GHz MCUs, and host MCUs that all share a common, easy-to-use development environment with a single-core SDK and rich tool set. A one-time integration of the SimpleLink platform enables developers to add any combination of the portfolio’s devices into their designs, allowing 100% code reuse when design requirements change.
