Korean IC inventories surge

Compared to January 2022 inventories were up 39.5%.

Chip exports account for 12% of  all Korea’s exports.

Factory shipments of Korean ICs fell 25.8% in January m-o-m while chip production fell 5.7%, compared with December.

Although Samsung is continuing with its original capex budget Hynix has slashed its capex by half.
