To be built on a 4nm process from TSMC, it will have eight Arm cores: two 2.8GHz Cortex-A715 cores and six Cortex-A510, then MediaTek’s own AI processing pnit (APU) and an Arm Mali G610 GPU. Memory runs at 6.4Gbit/s and there is UFS 3.1 for storage.

For gamers, there is AI-based variable-rate shading from MediaTek’s HyperEngine 5.0 and, for photography, its Imagiq 765 and a 14bit HDR-ISP supports 200Mpixel main cameras and 4K HDR video. It “even allows users to simultaneously capture content from two cameras at Full HD resolution while keeping everything in focus with all-pixel autofocus technology”, according to the company. For low-light image capture, motion compensated noise reduction is built-in.

Radios include a 3GPP Release-16 sub-6GHz 5G modem with up to 4.7Gbit/s down-link, tri-band Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. And the chip-set supports 2CC carrier aggregation and Dual 5G SIM with dual VoNR.

Display support is Full HD+ and 144Hz, and there is AI SDR-to-HDR for video playback. Wireless earbuds are also supported.

According to MediaTek, the IC will be seen in phones this quarter.
