Sensor platforms ideally suited for a wide range of applications

TDK InvenSense SmartIndustrial sensor Platforms, available now from Mouser, include 6-axis MEMS IMUs and 3-axis accelerometers. The IIM-46230, IIM-46234, and IIM-42652 are 6-axis IMUs that include a 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer into a small and compact package, while the IIM-42352 and IIM-42351 are 3-axis accelerometers. All of these devices offer a digital-output temperature sensor and are RoHS and green compliant. The platforms are ideal for various applications, including robotics, tilt sensing, platform stabilisation, industrial automation, navigation, and many more.

The IIM-46230 and IIM-46234 are provided in a module that measures 23mm x 23mm x 8.5mm with a 20-pin connector. The IIM-46230 offers 4.1-degree/hour gyroscope bias instability, and the IIM-46234 has 1.9-degree/hour gyroscope bias instability. These sensors include multiple capabilities to facilitate easy, robust, and accurate inertial measurements in industrial applications. They employ a proprietary TDK SensorFT (Fault Tolerance) feature that provides built-in redundancy and early warnings. The IIM-46230 and IIM-46234 offer an operating temperature range of -40C to +85C.

The IIM-42652 is supplied in a small 2.5mm x 3mm x 0.91 mm 14-pin LGA package and supports an extensive operating temperature range of -40C to +105C. The device features a 2K-byte FIFO that can reduce traffic on the serial bus interface and decrease power consumption by enabling the system processor to burst-read sensor data and then enter a low-power mode.
